About Floating CorkWe believe that North America is on the cusp of a wine revolution, and we want to be a part of it with you. Attitudes about wine in America have long varied between extremes; on one hand wine is regarded as expensive, extravagant and upper crust, while others deride wine as a vice, 'liquor' - something to consume on holidays or at parties but certainly not with dinner.Wine is not, of course, a new arrival to the human experience. It's been the cornerstone of civilizations for millennia, found in literature, theatre, music and dance. Finally America is beginning to recognize the wealth of flavors, aromas, and nuances that past cultures knew so well. We welcome a change in attitude, and we hope to use this website to make wine more accessible to the masses. It's our mission to help "average" Americans decode and decipher the myths, jargon, and absurd snobby connotations that we often associate with wine. Revolution is in the air; it's time for "a taste for the rest of us". |
